COLUMBUS– The Capital City Elite League wrapped up its second day of operation, and the only word that comes to mind is “Wow”.
5th line, you all deserve a round of applause. From selling out Nationwide Arena on weeknights while the Jackets sat in last place, to packing Chiller North on Fourth of July week, to filling the rink AGAIN just two weeks later for a summer league, you all are making a case for being a top fanbase in this league.
STANDOUTS
The big story this week was obviously Patrik Laine. Scoring five goals and nine points total, it is safe to say that he had a significant impact on his team’s 14-13 overtime loss to High Banks Distillery.
Kiefer Sherwood put up five goals and one assist in High Banks’ win over 614.
